Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty is a type of cosmetic breast surgery that enhances the size and volume of the breast by using either silicone or saline implants.
Breast augmentation can help many patients achieve their desired results including patients who have naturally small breasts, who have suffered a decrease in breast size after pregnancy and those whose breasts have decreased in size after weight loss.
You should consider a breast augmentation if:
To undergo a breast augmentation procedure, the patient is put under a general anaesthetic and the surgeon makes an incision, lifts the breast tissue and inserts either a silicone or saline implant. During a pre-surgical consultation, Dr. Ladak will determine how your implant should be inserted and positioned.
While there may be some post-surgery bruising and swelling, you will see results immediately after your surgery is complete. Additionally, as the post-procedure effects disappear, your results will continue to improve.
After your breast augmentation surgery, you may be instructed to wear a support bra or garment to promote healing. It takes around 5-10 days for you to be able to resume your regular schedule and Dr. Ladak will give you instructions on how to care for your treated areas after surgery.
