About tummy tuck

There are two types of abdominoplasty: a full abdominoplasty and a mini abdominoplasty.

The full procedure repairs abdominal muscles that have been separated or weakened by age, resulting in an abdomen that is smoother and firmer. Excess fat is also removed during surgery. The mini procedure is very similar but requires less extensive surgery.

What to expect

Tummy Tuck: procedure, results and recovery

The procedure

A full abdominoplasty is performed under general anaesthetic, with a horizontal incision made above the pubic line.

Through this incision, your plastic surgeon repairs weakened abdominal muscles and removes unwanted skin and fat. The incisions are then closed with absorbable sutures.

Results

Once surgery is complete, you can enjoy a stomach profile that is smoother, firmer and more refined.

Recovery

Dr. Ladak will give you detailed instructions on how to care for your treated areas. Typically, patients are able to resume their regular activities within a few weeks.
